Once you’re in the Instagram app, you can access the Reel screen two different ways. You can swipe right on your screen to open the camera or you can tap the + sign at the bottom of the screen. After, swipe to where it says “Reel” at the bottom of the screen to open the Reel editor.
You can record a new Reel in the Instagram app or upload a video from your camera roll. If you’re recording a new video directly in the app, check out the tools on the left-hand side of the screen. You can tap the bottom arrow to expand the menu and reveal labels so you know what each tool does. You can add audio, filters, adjust the length and speed of the video, use video layouts, and more.
Record the video by pressing and holding the circle record button. You can stop recording by lifting your finger, and resume recording by pressing and holding again. This allows you to film multiple clips within one Reel. If you want to add a previously recorded video from your camera roll, tap on the blue + sign on the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
When you’re done recording your video, hit Next. This screen will be familiar to you if you use Instagram Stories. You can add text, stickers, filters, and more.
Before you post your Reel, you should add a caption that is relevant to the video and your business. You can add hashtags and tag other accounts during this time as well. You can add a location, tag products, and control the upload quality under advanced settings.
Hit the share button to publish your Reel on your Instagram profile. It will show up in your followers’ feeds as well as the Explore Page.
